
The Joint Care Center
The Joint Care Center at Ocala Health is a uniquely designed unit, based on the wellness concept, keeping the orthopaedic patients needs in mind. Patients staying on the unit are generally healthy but are in need of joint replacement surgery. The specially designed 12-bed wing has spacious private rooms with all the amenities a joint replacement candidate could need including private dining facilities and a physical therapy room.
Seminars
Do you suffer from knee and/ or hip pain? Attend one of our free seminars and learn what you can do about your joint pain. Learn about some of the causes and some of the latest treatments including information about medications, nutrition and exercise.
Special Seminars are offered every second Thursday of the month at 11:00 am in the Community Center at the West Marion Medical Plaza.

The Perks
Any surgery can be a major undertaking for anyone. The staff of the Joint Care Center is dedicated to making the experience as positive as possible while maintaining quality of care standards and a commitment to quick recoveries.
A dining and activity area is available for patients and their family members. In the leisure room, books, music, TV, games and enjoyable interaction and conversation amongst fellow patients is available. Patients are also offered a gourmet lunch for them and a guest to be served in the dining and activity room.Patients are encouraged to wear their own comfortable clothing from home as soon as it's medically possible, and each patient is greeted with a warm smile and a cheerful flower to brighten up the room.
All in all, patients in the Joint Care Center are given the best possible care for those dealing with joint surgeries in Marion County.
The Plan
The primary goal of The Joint Care Center is to treat patients like healthy individuals who happen to need a corrective surgery. Patients are encouraged to wear their own clothing from home as soon as it is medically possible.

The Therapy
Other patients having similar surgeries are grouped together in the physical therapy room for group therapy sessions. Physical therapy begins in the morning following surgery. Family members are invited to observe therapy sessions. Many patients are able to go home on the day following surgery.
